About Me

I received a Computer Science degree from Penn State University.  I designed and wire wrapped early Intel 8080 and Motorolla 6800 systems starting in 1975.  Interesting letter from Intel dated August 1975 states that the 8255-8 that I received was from a limited production run that had an incompatability with the 8080 when operating at full speed and should be used as a prototype at room temperature.

I wrote operating systems, assemblers for the 8080 and 6800 and also emulators to simulate the 8080 and 6800 on the IBM 370/168 mainframe computer.

I like vintage computer systems and have several old Intel University B Kits from 1975 with 1x 8080A, 1x 8224, 8x 2102A, 4x 1702A, 4x 8212, and 1x 8205.  Back then it was only $20 for the kit.

I collect vintage computers and have an IBM mainframe 360/65 and 370/145 and 3705 communications controller front panels with display lights and switches.  I also have IBM 360/22 processor modules and core memory planes, IBM 3803 Tape Controller Unit and various other items.

About Me

I became know as the ACME Software Deli (and Malt Shoppe) in the summer of 1980 when working as an Engineering Aide in the General Aviation Division of Sperry Flight Systems.  It was there that I found a love of the Intel languages, particularly PL/M-86 and ASM86
